was fun until I got to level 9... then some invisible enemy just killed all my miners/rangers constantly as they spawned.

Story and graphics were cool. I prefer being able to aim + fire with mouse 100% more than the system in this game.

Thanks, glad you liked the game! I think most people prefer to use the mouse to aim and fire in games like this and I'm sorry the controls frustrated you a bit. I made this game for the ones who prefer to use the keyboard like in Alien Hominid and Earth Worm Jim etc. I'm one of those people and there aren't many games that uses this control setup. So I decided to make one. Luckily there are a million other games like this that uses the mouse for the ones who prefer that. Sorry if this was a bit frustrating, just wanted to explain myself a bit. Thanks for still voting fairly and for giving me a very nice score :)

Very fun game, I played it for a long time.

A couple of things to fix though.
- Exp and Cash get reset to 0 when you save the game and come back.
- The attack range of the purple guy and your dragon is longer than the visibility range of the enemies... so you can cheat by just hiding and letting your dragon do all the killing.

Although this game looked very promising to begin with I eventually found it to be extremely repetitive, dull and boring through being far too easy.

Things I DID like were: the depth of lore/story/content in general. There is, in a way, a good level of complexity to the content writing elements of the game.

On the other hand - I hated the interface, it was clunky and slow, click intensive, and poorly planned.
For my first 30 minutes of the game I found it literally impossible to complete any mission except the first two... then when I realized that you literally NEED the archer unit to complete any missions I started to progress, but I soon discovered that it is literally impossible to fail missions if you have a decent number of archers. Basically the entire combat system is ill-thought-out... despite it's clear level of complexity with the amount of units and their different traits, in the end this is all meaningless because you basically need just 1 type of unit to win, and you can'y win without it.

The game economy is also very poorly balanced, frankly in too many ways for me to start listing.

And finally... since I found all the missions far too easy I found myself killing the final boss very early on... before I'd even managed to build most of the structures in my city, or research ANY of the crafting recipes/spells/equipment etc. - basically making all of these features of the game redundant as well.

I don't mean to slate the author too hard, because they clearly worked very hard on this game... but it still needs a lot of serious game balancing work.

Upgrading stuff is fun!

Fun game - but I had the same bug as the guy 2 reviews below. After a few rounds the rounds stopped ending and I couldn't continue which kinda spoiled the whole thing. -1 point for obscure bug.

RPG-lite

I like the quick and easy style of the game.

Would have enjoyed a boss fight at the end though. Slightly disappointing when it ends after simply beating another level.

Also I thought mage was significantly easier than warrior... though perhaps that was just me. Now to try the rogue.

Addictive

Nice game. Had me playing for hours.

Heroic boss mode though? Damn that's too hard for me! :p

Awesome foundation to a game

It was enthralling, I like all your descriptions and the town map and such.

My major problem was with the balance of resources and the income.

For example... you could buy a lumber yard for 500 silver, there was no limit to the amount of lumber yards you could have - you could sell 1 lumber for 1 gold and you could buy like 100 silver with 1 gold... essentially you end up generating an infinite amount of resources in a small time - the only limit is how long you are willing to sit with your finger on the 'buy' button.

Basically you need to think about the whole mechanics of the market place and how much buildings and troops cost again.

10 hours FUN gameplay

really enjoyed this - kept me engaged for a good 10 hours, and the final boss was a nice challenge - I had to spend a couple hours refining my strategy an retraining before I could beat it. I didn't bother rushing through this game, I'm sure many people completed it faster - but I think that is testament to how much I enjoyed the game/storyline - I really took my time.

I love how the saves could continue to a Mardek 3 aswell... I'm really looking forward to its release.

Now I've finished I've just remembered about that second Trilobite key I never used... might have to go back and explore a bit more. ;)

Crystals anyone? =D

Cool game.

Simple but fun. I loved the commentary.

Are you planning on releasing any other letters?

You could develop the characters a bit more though... what's the deal with x for example? :P
